Verhelst Machines has recently installed the Wolff 355B luffing crane at a Versluys construction site in Ostend. This crane is ideal for locations with limited space due to its smaller turning radius. Initially, a higher flat-top crane was needed to avoid collisions with nearby buildings, but with the 355B, that is no longer a problem. In this case, the lower-set luffing crane provides a budgetary advantage for the client and also ensures more efficient operation since there is no need to work from an unnecessary extra height.
Configuration of this Wolff 355B:
- Minimum jib height: 60.5 meters
- Maximum height under the hook: 98.1 meters
- Jib length: 50 meters
- Maximum lifting capacity: 28 tons
- Lifting capacity at the end of the 50m jib: 7 tons
