For Degroote Harbour Construct, we excavated a construction pit at the Sint-Bernardusplein in Nieuwpoort to a depth of approximately 9 meters. The assignment was a preparation for the construction of a new apartment building and commenced on October 15, 2024. The project was completed on January 10, 2025, within the agreed timeframe.
An important milestone during the project was the timely pouring of the tower crane base before the Christmas holidays, allowing it to cure during the holiday period. Thanks to good coordination and collaboration with all parties involved, this deadline was met.
For the execution of the project, we used various machines, including a 35-ton crawler crane, a 50-ton LR crawler crane, and a screening machine to process the sand on site. During the excavation, a total of 20,000 m³ of dune sand was excavated and removed.
