On March 1st, the demolition work began at the site of the Oude Molens in Deinze. This ambitious project, commissioned by 3D Real Estate/Atenor, involved the demolition of an imposing tower with a height of 56 meters. Verhelst Aannemingen eagerly took on this challenge.
The location of the tower next to the Leie created a unique situation where demolition could be approached from only one side. To address this, we developed a creative approach. We placed a Mini Crane in a container, which was then hoisted up to demolish the top 15 meters of the tower. From then on, the demolition could continue from the ground with our Volvo 750 with long demolition arm.
Besides the aspect of 'height,' the amount of dust released also had to be considered. To minimize the impact on the surrounding neighborhood, we provided a mist cannon.
The Oude Molens site consists of two phases, with a total area of 20,000 m2 that needs to be demolished. Phase 1 has been completed and is currently being developed by 3D Real Estate/Atenor. We are now busy with phase 2, which covers an area of 11,000 m2. Our experienced team is committed to completing this phase successfully with the same dedication and expertise.
At Verhelst Aannemingen, we are proud of our ability to tackle and successfully complete complex projects. We thank 3D Real Estate/Atenor for trusting in our craftsmanship and look forward to continuing to work together on new challenging projects in the future.
