Because all construction activities at Verhelst Group are under one roof, we can coordinate quickly and efficiently. Cosco Shipping also experienced this. We completed the first phase of the expansion of their terminal in the port of Zeebrugge, together with BAM Contractors, within 3 weeks. The scale of the works was nevertheless impressive. For the application of the foundation, sublayer, and asphalt on the 2.3 ha site, 50,000 m³ of earthworks was needed and we delivered 6,000 m³ of crushed stone. In this first phase, 7,500 tons of asphalt was applied. A feat that Verhelst Aannemingen, TopAsfalt, and Top-Mix, all part of Verhelst Group, brought to a successful conclusion effortlessly.
Over the next 2 years, we will handle the rest of the site (7 ha). Verhelst Aannemingen will be responsible, among other things, for the installation of the sewage system. To be continued.
