Commissioned by Willy Naessens, on behalf of Pepsico, our team has undertaken the task of carrying out the earthworks and sewerage works for the construction of a new warehouse in Veurne.
The project involves strengthening the subsoil and placing a foundation of crushed concrete debris 0/40, essential for site accessibility for the piling machine. Additionally, the project includes installing the sewage system to improve drainage of the site and roof area, as well as placing pulling pipes/conduit pipes.
Challenges and Considerations:
A significant challenge in this project was the poor quality of the subsoil. To ensure a solid foundation for both indoor and outdoor concrete pavements, it was necessary to support them on piles. This also required that inspection chambers and receiving devices be anchored to the slab or placed on piles to prevent future subsidence due to underground settlements.
Project in Numbers:
- Area of the crushed concrete debris foundation: 44,000 m²
- Supply and installation of 11,000 m³ crushed concrete debris 0/40
- Stabilization of more than 15,000 m³ soil to ensure load-bearing capacity
