For the redesign of the N46 Weldenstraat, Verhelst Aannemingen was responsible for a complete renovation: installation of a separated sewer system, new independent bicycle paths, and complete renewal of the pavements.
Secure approach for technical challenges
This project required specialized solutions. For example, we worked with a pumping station 7 meters deep that we sank in a controlled manner, a safer and more efficient alternative to traditional excavation. Moreover, part of the sewers are placed above each other, which required extremely precise placement.
With 7 crawler cranes, 15 Verhelst professionals, 10 subcontractors, and 5 to 7 tractors on site, we combined all our efforts to bring this complex task to a successful conclusion. Thanks to our experience and smooth cooperation with the parties involved, we kept the project on track.
Project in figures:
- 18,000 m² of new asphalt
- 5,000 meters of new sewage system
- 16,000 meters of slipform concrete
- 40,000m³ of earthworks, of which 20,000m³ to be stabilized on-site for reuse
- 2,500m of ditches
