27 January 2021 – Today, Verhelst Aannemingen, part of the Verhelst Group, officially became a member of the OVB, the Entrepreneurs Association for Soil Remediation vzw.
The OVB is a sector association of and for companies that are active in soil remediation and soil cleaning.
The OVB acts as a contact point for the government and maintains contacts with other sector organizations (construction, environment…). It aims to achieve an economically and environmentally responsible cleaning of contaminated soils and groundwater with a view to reuse and recycling. Together with all its members, the association wants to strive for high-quality execution of remediation and soil cleaning works in order to continue to promote a positive image of the sector.
Verhelst Aannemingen, part of Verhelst Group, is a leader in demolition, excavation, and infrastructure works, but has also been active for years in the recycling sector through its subsidiary Top-Mix in various areas, namely soils, aggregates, and the production of concrete products. It was therefore a small step for Verhelst Aannemingen to bring together all expertise and knowledge and apply it to remediation.

Kristof Nachtergaele, operational director at Top-Mix, puts it this way: "We are convinced that OVB can help us keep our finger on the pulse in multiple areas, such as current and future legislation, the development of techniques, or market evolution."
Verhelst Aannemingen always looks forward with an open perspective. We want to do the same with regard to OVB. "Engaging in dialogue with the other members can only have a positive effect on all parties and can often lead to a consensus on important themes."
